Theme: The Tony Awards (Part 1)
Notes: This year we dropped airing a song from any 1947 shows. The Antoinette Perry Awards started in 1947, but there was no award for "Outstanding Musical" that year. The first award for "Outstanding Musical" was given in 1949. Traditionally, we've aired a song from Finian's Rainbow since it might have been considered in such a category in 1947.
With the removal of a 1947 show, this first part of the annual Tony Awards review conveniently covered all of the 1950's and 1960's.
